Baseball
Games Ranked
|
|
|
Well I have almost every baseball
game on the NES. Unlike most sports games on the NES there are quite a
few good ones. Any in the top 11 are at least decent. One of the weird
things about the baseball games is that they could be divided into
smaller categories. Some are attempting to be realistic simulators, most
of which fail, and some are just trying to be fun games. The main factor
in a game's ranking is how fun it is although nice graphics are a plus.
Baseball Stars is a legend in a
class by itself. R.B.I. is darn
close and the best game with real players, it’s a shame they “improved” the gameplay for R.B.I. 2 and 3 because they added tons of
cool teams and ruined the game. Oh
how Agents J and K yearn to play a good game with the 84 and 89
Cubbies. You also can’t go wrong with 4 through 6. They lack realism but are darn fun.

Agent K's Rankings
- Baseball Stars - This is the best of the best, full
stat tracking, create and improve your own players with money earned
from victories
- Baseball Stars II - Just a small step down from the
original, full stat tracking, create and improve your own players
with money earned from victories
- R.B.I.
Baseball - Not
many teams, but they're real. This is just a classic.
- Dusty Diamonds Softball
All-Stars – Fun game with tons of different
players including Satan and a witch.
- Bad News Baseball - Great gameplay, but no stats or
real rosters. Plus the umps are rabbits!
- Little League Baseball - Gameplay like Baseball Stars, but
set as little leaguers.
- R.B.I.
Baseball 3 -
This game has tons of great rosters. Many pennant winners are
included. Plus variable computer levels
- Baseball Simulator 1.000 - Plays like the first R.B.I, but it
has stat tracking and has the option of using all sorts of weird
powers
- R.B.I.
Baseball 2 -
Exactly the same as R.B.I. 3 except that it only has the current
rosters.
- Base Wars - Robots playing baseball, plus you
can buy new equipment for them.
- Tecmo Baseball - I love the pitching in this game
- Legends of the
Diamond - About 40
Hall of Famers make this game pretty interesting
- Bases Loaded II - same as the first except they
fixed the pacing.
- Bases Loaded - as slow paced as real baseball,
but Paste is a legend.
- Roger Clemens Baseball - very unique fielding is a good and
bad
- Bases Loaded 3 - Fielding is very odd and no season
just a rating system. Ryno
may have played it, but I sure don’t!
- Bo Jackson Baseball – Bo don’t know video games.
- Major League
Baseball - RBI
Baseball gone horribly wrong. It scores like a football game.
- Baseball - The first and most certainly the worst.
- Pro Baseball (Quattro Sports) - Okay this is the worst. Only
pitcher fields and the ball's shadow is wildly inaccurate.
The
only game I don't have yet is:
